CSS for beginners - why?
This series of quick and simple tutorials is aimed at those who want to learn the basics of CSS. CSS is not difficult to learn - it is much easier to create a design using XHTML and CSS than using tables and font tags!
I worked for Macromedia's technical support service, primarily I was supposed to look after Freehand users but was given training in HTML so I could support Dreamweaver too (version 4 at the time). The training I got was limited to using Dreamweaver's design view and fiddling with the tables it produced. There had to be an easier way!
I discovered the XHTML and CSS way of doing things as Dreamweaver MX was released - again with in-house training from Macromedia. From that day on I never touched a table again.
I do not profess to being able to give you the answer to every question you will have about CSS. What I aim to do with this series of tutorials is to bring the reader to the point where they are able to pose their questions on the forum of their choice. In short this series of CSS tutorials is designed to give you a basic understanding of XHTML and CSS. From my own experiences on various forums this could prove very useful for designers
